Telefun is a text-message relay service for university students. This policy explains what we collect when you use it, how we use it, and what we never do with it.
We use this information to operate the relay: to verify you are a student, to identify who you mean when you name someone, to deliver your messages, and to respond to you.
Telefun is an AI service. Messages you send are processed by an AI model in order to generate replies and route relays. Messages sent by students at your school may be used as context when Telefun replies to other students at that same school, and Telefun may refer to what you have said when it is talking to them. If you ask Telefun to find something out for you, it may put a question to another student on your behalf, in its own words and without your name on it, and may not pass back everything they say. If you ask Telefun to put a question to your school, it may send it to a few students there, chosen at random, with your name on it unless you ask it to leave your name off, and pass their answers back to you. It is instructed to use judgment about what is appropriate to share, to withhold sensitive disclosures, and to keep anything you ask it to keep — but it is an AI exercising judgment, not a guarantee, and you should not treat anything you send as confidential.
We do not share, sell, rent, or provide your mobile phone number or your messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your phone number for advertising, and we do not provide it to advertising networks or data brokers.
We share information only with service providers who make the service work — our messaging carrier, our email provider, and our AI model provider — and only to the extent needed to deliver the service. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Telefun never reveals your email address or phone number to another user.
Message frequency varies and depends on how much you and the people at your school use the service. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We retain your account information and messages for as long as your account is active. If you opt out with STOP, we retain your record so that we know not to message you again. You may request deletion of your account and message history by contacting us.
Telefun is intended for university students aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
